Musselman Library Services and Resources During Summer 2020 Reopening: Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan Services

Musselman Library's interlibrary loan services are fully available.  It is now possible to borrow physical books as well as electronic articles and book chapters from other libraries.  Due to libraries across the country adjusting their services for COVID-19, there may be a longer wait than usual for requested material. Fewer institutions are lending materials at this time; it might not be possible to fulfill a request.  

IMPORTANT: The library building is closed to all patrons.  When your interlibrary loan book arrives, you will receive an email directing you to pick up the book between the two sets of doors on the west (Stine Lake) side of the library.  You will need your Campus ID for the card swipe entrance on the Stine Lake side of the library. Card swipe will be active from 9 am and 4:30 pm Monday- Friday.  Your items will be marked with your name and sitting on a table between the two sets of  doors. They will already be checked out to you.  When you are finished with the items, please return them via the book drop on the west (Stine Lake) side of the building.

Journal articles and book chapter scans will come straight to your ILLiad account.  You will receive an email when the article or book chapter is ready to view.

Renewing Items

You can submit a renewal request for an item you've already borrowed through your interlibrary loan account.  The lending library makes the decision to renew or keep the original due date.  To request a renewal:

  1. Log into your interlibrary loan account
  2. In the "View and Renew" section of the left-hand menu, click "Renew Checked Out Items"
  3. Click on the "Transaction Number" for the item you want to renew
  4. On the next screen, click "Renew Request"

Done! You may hear back in a few days if the renewal is granted. 

NOTE:  Due to COVID-19 issues at the lending libraries,  you may not get a reply, or your renewal request may be denied.  Don't worry-- YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED ANY OVERDUE FINES OR FEES, SO LONG AS YOU RETURN THE MATERIALS.  You can safely ignore any automated overdue notices you receive.


Returning Borrowed Items

If you will be on campus in the fall, please borrowed items to the library during the first week on campus.

If you will NOT be returning in the fall, please ship borrowed items to:
