Oftentimes, companies are being written about by analysts and reporters in trade publications. Using either the Emerald or Business Source Elite databases to search for these articles is one way of figuring out what's currently going on or what's been historically happening with a company.

Evaluating a industry's ratios can be a good way to value the performance of a company. How is the company performing compared to it's overall industry? What can be gathered from the differences or similarities in ratios. All of the filings of any publicly traded company can be found in the SEC's Database called Edgar. Below is a link to the website where you can search based on your company. Within the results will be links to quarterly reports filed with the SEC. In these reports are where the key financials (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows) for the company can be found.
