Adams Unity Coalition/Adams County Human Relations Council
The Adams Unity Coalition /Adams County Human Relations Council is comprised of organizations in Adams County that meet to support and network with one another for the betterment of peace, justice, and unity within our community. They share an interest in improving and building a community of respect and tolerance for all within Adams County.
The Arc of Adams County
The Arc promotes and protects the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Gettysburg PRIDE
Gettysburg PRIDE is an event that happens annually in June. It was started in the summer of 2017 as a bar crawl, expanded in 2018 to a full weekend with events including education/outreach, free rapid HIV testing, and counseling. This event happens yearly.
Interfaith Center for Peace and Justice
The Interfaith Center for Peace and Justice is a non-profit organization and educational institution that supports healthy dialogue on peace and social justice within the community. They work towards advancing the well-being of everyone, in a non-violent manner. ICPJ organizes many events in the area including the Adams County Heritage Festival.
Manos Unidas Hispanic-American Center
Manos Unidas is a non-profit, community organization that promotes the integration of Hispanic culture within Adams County. Through different events such as Dia del Niño, Camp Nawakwa Summer Camp, and the Quinceañera Youth Program, Manos Unidas provide a greater sense of cultural belonging with the Hispanic community in Gettysburg. Some services offered include counseling in Spanish, information, and referral to community agencies, translation and interpretation, public notary services, and VITA (Volunteers Income Tax Assistant) for anyone who comes through their door.
South Central Community Action Programs
A non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating poverty in Adams and Franklin County. SCAAP offers many services to help with this mission, including WIC, Support Circles, and The MLK Career Aid Project.
