Don't have a particular title in mind? Use these search tips to browse MUSCAT Plus and WorldCat.org for a fairy tale re-making that catches your interest!
*Searching with the subject "Fairy Tales" will help you locate retellings of classical fairy tales, as well as modern tales with fairy tale themes and motifs.
*Try including terms such as "Adaptation" or "Retelling" to find different versions of various fairy tales.
*"Juvenile literature" is a term that will help you find children's books, and "Graphic Novels" or "Comic books, strips, etc." will help you find graphic novels.
*If you are interested in variations of a particular story, try a search with its title:
"Beauty and the beast" AND (adaptation* OR retelling)
For CDs or DVDs, search MUSCAT Plus. For books, search MUSCAT Plus and/or WorldCat (NOTE: While Musselman Library has quite a lot of fairy tale literature, WorldCat has many more children's and young adult titles.)

If the library doesn't have an item you want, you can request to borrow a copy from another library via our interlibrary loan service.
Articles (PDF) usually arrive within 24 hours. Books may take 4-7 days. A book chapter (PDF) may arrive in 1-2 days.
For articles, use the Gett It button in databases to see if we have access. If not, you will see an option to sign into Muscat Plus and submit your request.
For books and book chapters, search Muscat Plus. If you don't see what you want, click "search other libraries" and then submit your request with the "request from other libraries" link on the results page. Or, you can use the interlibrary loan form at the top of Muscat Plus.
